If your surgery was more than 6 months ago, absolutely you can!

You need a minimum of 22 hours between your colonic appointments, although colonics are best spaced 2-3 days apart.
-
These symptoms are very common post colonic, especially if you’ve been struggling with inflammation and gut issues for years. During your Initial treatment with us it has likely disturbed the environment within your Colon; and its your bodies way of letting you know that it needs a helping hand. Which is why we encourage a series of colonics (at least 3, spaced 2-3 days apart) when starting out.
-
We only treat 14 years and older, with a parent/caregiver present for the entirety of the session.
-
Absolutely! About 30% of clients at Gravity Colonics are males, and that number is increasing as time goes on.
-
Pregnant clients:
- Must have already had multiple colonics with us.
- Cannot be a brand-new client seeking treatment during pregnancy.
- No colonics during the first trimester.
- Colonics may be performed up to approximately 32 weeks.
- After 32 weeks, treatment is at the therapist's discretion and dependent on the client's individual circumstances.
- No treatments after 36 weeks.
Breastfeeding clients:
- Recommend "pump and dump" following treatment to minimise any possibility of released toxins affecting breast milk.
-
Most people can leave their colonic session and go about their daily business without incident; it is rare for a person to have a problem on the way home or later in the day. You are given time at the end of your colonic to go to the toilet. If you are concerned, you can plan to stay home after your first session to see how you go, but it is usually unnecessary.
-
Do you go to restaurants and refuse to use the stainless steel knife and fork and ask for disposable?
Do you go to your dentist and ask them to use disposable instruments in your mouth? The same goes for colonics! Water flows much better through stainless steel then it does through plastic, plus a stainless steel speculum is A LOT more comfortable than a plastic. We also believe in preserving this beautiful earth we live on, and try out best not to add any more unnecessary plastic to our landfill.
Each instrument is diligently scrubbed with antibacterial soap + disinfected in 30% hydrogen peroxide and then medically sterilised. No different to how your Dentist would sterilise the equipment they use in their practices.
-
The idea of washing out good bacteria when doing a colonic is not accurate. We don’t use anything but filtered water which is not destructive. If you have good bacteria, it’s often so far into the folds of the intestine that it won’t wash away. We provide a probiotic drink after each appointment and recommend probiotics for anyone just to be sure.
-
The process is similar to the way that we can eat and breathe through the same “tube.” Think of it as a fork in the tube outside of the body.
Clean water flows into the colon from one side of the fork and waste matter flows out of the colon through the other side of the fork.
-
Laxatives, including natural varieties, generally work by stimulating the colon to contract. While they may provide short-term relief, long-term reliance on laxatives can affect the colon's natural function.
Enemas are designed to assist in emptying the lower portion of the colon, whereas colon hydrotherapy is intended to support cleansing of a larger section of the colon using warm, filtered water.
At Gravity Colonics, we use the Woods Gravity Method, a gentle, gravity-fed approach designed with comfort, relaxation, and wellbeing in mind. Your therapist can discuss whether colon hydrotherapy is suitable for your individual needs and goals.

As with any treatment or wellness service, it is important to ensure it is appropriate for your individual circumstances.
At Gravity Colonics, we use the Woods Gravity Method, a gentle, gravity-fed approach designed with comfort, relaxation, and client wellbeing in mind. Our focus is on supporting the body's natural function rather than creating dependency on ongoing treatments.
We encourage all clients to discuss their health history with their therapist and to choose a qualified, experienced practitioner. If you have any concerns about whether colon hydrotherapy is suitable for you, we recommend speaking with your healthcare professional prior to treatment.

Many clients report feeling lighter, refreshed, and more relaxed following their colonic session. Some people also describe a greater sense of wellbeing and comfort.
Everyone's experience is different, and individual results can vary. Some clients feel energised after their treatment, while others may prefer to take it easy and focus on rest, hydration, and nourishing foods.
We recommend drinking plenty of water following your appointment and continuing to support your wellbeing through healthy lifestyle choices.
Please note: It is common for bowel habits to vary slightly following a colonic. Some clients notice a delay before their next bowel movement, while others experience easier and more comfortable bowel movements in the days that follow.
If you have any concerns following your treatment, please contact the clinic or speak with your healthcare professional.

Colonics are best practised in a series, but one is better than none! To begin to understand the benefits of Wood’s Gravity Method, a minimum of three sessions is recommended.
The duration of each session is one hour. Colonics are safe to be practised every 22 hours, no more, but best is every two days.
When fasting or cleansing, we recommend a series, as once the body starts releasing, it transports deeper toxins from different cells and organs and dumps them again into the colon.
This is why multiple sessions are highly recommended for maximum benefit!
-
Colon hydrotherapy may not be suitable for everyone. For your safety, treatment may not be recommended if you have:
Pregnancy
Active or bleeding haemorrhoids

Recent abdominal surgery (within the past 6 months)
Certain mental health conditions where treatment may not be appropriate
Active anal fissures.

Please note: Due to the nature of the treatment, Gravity Colonics is only able to treat clients aged 15 years and over. Clients under 18 must attend with a parent or guardian.
